Jumbo is a real adventure-treat for the kid in you. It lets the kid in you take center stage and rule the roost for the next 2 hours. In line with the most popular animation film Hanuman, Percept's Jumbo is an innovative and entertaining movie that keeps the viewer hooked to his or her seat.

Though Jumbo may not be as entertaining as Hanuman, it fares well than many amateur movies of this genre. Based on 'Chao Praya Prah Hongsawadee', a story by Ariya Jintapanichkarn, Jumbo tells the adventures of Jaiveer aka Jumbo, a baby elephant. The fun arises when Jumbo dreams of following Yudhveer, his absent father, and becoming the royal elephant.

Jumbo decides to go in search of his father. During his search, Jumbo meets up with a kindly elephant trainer, a hyperactive messenger bird and a female elephant (who becomes his sweetheart later). Subsequently, Jumbo becomes a war elephant and defends his kingdom against the evil opponents.

Jumbo bears an uncanny resemblance to The Lion King. Though the resemblance does not strike instantly, you recognize it towards the latter part when Jumbo is chosen by the kind to fight the opponents. Though the animation part is not as good as Shrek, the Lion King or Finding Nemo, the movie is one of the best animation films we have witnessed so far in India.

Jumbo also has the trappings of a typical Hindi film. There's revenge, romance, emotion and action. Also, several well-known names in the industry have given voices for the characters. There are also scenes featuring Akshay Kumar. Akshay, Dimple Kapadia, Rajpal Yadav and Gulshan Grover infuse life in those characters. On the whole, Jumbo is a sweet, sincere and simple film that works. Recommended for kids from 6 to 60.
